Rachmaninov.com
is a tribute to Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943), Rachmaninov was
a Russian composer who in later life emigrated to America. Rachmaninov
music includes: operas; symphonies; piano concertos (such as the
popular Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor ); the Rhapsody on a Theme
by Paganini for piano and orchestra; the tone poem, The Isle of
the Dead ; piano pieces such as the ever-popular and possibly
over-rated Prelude in C sharp minor, sonatas, tableaux, and transcriptions;
sacred music; songs; chamber music; and choral works.

1943). Russian composer and pianist. He studied at the Moscow
Conservatory (1885-92) under Zverev (where Skryabin was a fellow
pupil) and his cousin Ziloti for piano and Taneyev and Arensky
for composition, graduating with distinction as both pianist and
